Background: Prolactinomas are the most frequent secreting pituitary adenomas encountered in the clinical setting. Cabergoline is considered the mainstay medical treatment and transsphenoidal surgery (TSS) is recommended for patients that are medically resistant to dopamine agonist therapy.
